I thought I had posted this already. Many of you would benefit from visiting my friend's journal, who is also teaching this essay to her students. She has some great links that will give you more information on Jayson Blair, who we discussed in class.

I just finished watching a documentary on the media called Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism. Some of you might be interested in viewing this film (it's only 77 minutes). The film depicts the impact that the media's often biased news gathering and reporting techniques have on our society.
Here's a little blurb from Netflix to give you an idea of what the film is about:
Finally, a no-holds-barred documentary on Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, which has been criticized in some quarters as running a "race to the bottom" in television news. Offering an in-depth look at the dangers of burgeoning corporations that take control of the public's right to know, the film explores Murdoch's ever-expanding media empire and its impact on society. Media experts such as Jeff Cohen and Bob McChesney are interviewed.
